A phenomenpm which ruled again in Europe was Russian high pressure.
In ghe year 2011 it covered Finland and we got in eastern part a hige yield.
One of my hive goit 200 kg, and this year in same place about 30 kg.
So, the high pressure covers a ceratin area and on edges there are ciold and abundant rains.
Britain got 2011 and 2012 those rains. In south like Romania and so, 2011 there were floods too.
In Finland in outh aeast part weathers were quite good but days temps did not rise much over 20C.
In Britain 15C was "good temp" last summer and some beekeepers hoped that they queens can mate in 10C temp and they forage in rain.
What I learned that bees are not able to forage in 18C. It they fly much but they return with empty belly to the hive. Espicially wind cools the bees' flying muscles . Muscles' temp is 39C.
The hive on balance autum canola
One week was about 15-18C and sunny. The hive brought more weight 3 kg in a week.
Then temp rised to 23C and the give got 5,3 kg more weigh in one day.
