Steampunk Hive

Mary and I like to do creative things.

Her hive ended up with punched copper cables and this is my latest bee house:

41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

4X4 post, body of barn wood with tight joints; now that is totally cool, unique.  Very nice, so creative.  I?m impressed.

Now, just wait until you see some of sawdust, Jim, observation hives that look like a fine piece of living room furniture: walnut, or oak,  polished and perfectly fitted joints on rotating bottom if desired, glass sides.

Best to the bees!
I have been around bees a long time, since birth.  I am a hobbyist so my answers often reflect this fact.  I concentrate on genetics, raise my own queens by wet graft, nicot, with natural or II breeding.  I do not sell queens, I will give queens  for free but no shipping.

Michael, I am not sure if I am more impressed by the hive, or that you are familiar with the term steampunked.

Love it - creative as all get-out.  Hopefully Sawdust will post some of his creativity as well

Thanks, guys!

Would love to see some of Jim's hives!

Looks good but for Steam Punk it needs a couple of gauges and a misc. gear.
Poor decisions make the best stories.

A gauge for internal temp and adjustable top vent with wheel would be fittingly utilitarian.
