You have way better eyes than I do. I have looked at that picture several times, on my phone, I don?t know how you can tell how many wings it has.

No problem.  And don't feel bad, you aren't the first to be fooled by the fly's mimicry, and you certainly won't be the last!  :grin:  I saw one of these flies mimicking a bumble bee last year, and it took me a good long look to realize it wasn't actually a bumble bee.  I have some pictures of it on this post.  https://beemaster.com/forum/index.php?topic=55438.msg506586#msg506586

On beelife's picture it is very difficult to see to count the wings; I was clued in on that photo initially by the antennae, the mouthparts, and the position of the wings.  Because they only have 2 wings, most flies hold their wings out at an angle when they are resting, they don't stack them over their back like a bee does.
