What was that noise JP? The sound of a cat choking on a fur ball or just a whole bunch of cats choking at the same time? Oh well, you still have the Saints :)

My best friend died two years ago at Christmas was.  He was a die-hard Alabama fan who had an Alabama "wind suit" he'd wear each Saturday to watch the games on TV...a suit he never washed (he said it'd wash the good luck out of them...he was akin to a nut :-D ).  He had multiple personalities, though.  He would've been screaming "ROLL TIDE!!!!" last night.  This Saturday he would be yelling "Who Dat????!!!!" as he wished doom and despair on the 49ers...big Saints fan he was.  So with that, I've gotta say....

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Read a piece suggesting Les is becoming the Bo Schembechler of LSU.  Les of course played for Bo at Michigan.  I hate to say this, but Les’s game plan looked a lot like those Bo used in all those Rose bowl losses.

It sure seemed to me that it was worth risking a change to QB Lee at the start of the 4th quarter.  It might not have made beans of a difference but at least you could say you tried everything you could.  At least we didn’t have to watch the OSU Buckeye’s get blown out again.  The game was pretty entertaining.

BTW….what the heck is a honey badger the TV announcer kept talking about?

Honey badger was the nickname they gave LSU's cornerback Tyrann Mathieu but he didnt appear to be on his A-game like before. Im with you, I would have tried a Q-Back change. I'm sure Les is going to be taking on quite a bit of flak from the media, alumni, etc

Well, the SEC's BCS National Championship winning streak has finally been broken...a SEC team finally loss a championship game.  But, of course, it took another SEC team to beat'em.     :-D

Quote from: JP
Bobby Hebert calls out Les Miles
We still gotta remember, though, that Miles coached a 13-1 team that ended up #2 and held #1 basically the entire season.  Miles is a darned good coach that you don't just find everyday (Saban's better, though! ;) ).

The LSU team as a unit and as individuals was, for some reason, off their game Monday night...the coach might have been, too, but the players definitely were.  Jefferson who knows how to step back, drop his head, and run through the line was getting his head lifted and being sat back on his tail...or either just swamped in the backfield.  I don't think Lee would have had a chance with the pass rush, but I understand the thoughts of "what if".  The screens, options, and other lateral plays were just that...lateral, they couldn't add forward yardage to them.  The panicky shuttle pass that was intercepted...very uncharacteristic of Jefferson.  Even Mathieu got shut down...both on defense and kick returns.  It wasn't just a quarterback thing or a coach thing...it really seemed to me to be a team thing.

I think all the nay-sayers and folks saying Alabama shouldn't be playing in the championship game helped to build a blazing fire under Alabama that LSU didn't have...personally I'd like to thank all those folks!!!  Oh, and if the BCS changes things to that little 4-team playoff thingy that they're talking about don't be too surprised if you see three, or even four, SEC teams playing in it.   :-D

LSU is a fine team, looking at what's coming back to them next year...it's gonna be a team to contend with once again, that is for sure.  But, for now I'll say with a smile.... ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I honestly didn't expect LSU to have much of a chance of winning this game but was astonished how the tigers pretty much dominated this game.

I don't believe anyone who watched this game can argue that Les Miles and our defensive coordinator lost this game for us. This lost hurt our fans deeply as we had this pretty much in the bag if not for such poor coaching.

I'm still sick to my stomach over this one and everyone I talk to feels the same way.

I feel so badly that our boys played their hearts out but were betrayed by such stupid coaching errors!

Y'all got the win no matter which way you look at it. The score doesn't lie but it just plain sucks for us.

Congratulations Alabama on coming out ahead.

Next year we will be even better and hopefully we will have better coaching!

JP, you are a gentleman and a scholar.

The Mad Hatter did throw a couple of tricks out but they were off the mark...  he's gotten away with them in times past, though.  Looking at the stats Alabama beat LSU in only four areas.....Net Rushing Yardage (by 27 yards), Sacks, and Penalties.  It was a couple of drives and the big plays for Alabama that put the points on the scoreboard for them.  Their average play during the game was undoubtedly sub-par.  I was glad to see the defense hold up as well as it did...something tells me conditioning and endurance is going to be a topic of the week in Tuscaloosa.  Opponents need to keep Mettenberger on their radar...he will be somebody to contend with, no doubt!  Ya'll have a dang good team, JP, definitely ain't nothing slack about them boys...coach could use some xanax or something, though. ;)

Death Valley is a strange, strange place...

Honestly Ed, I really didn't think our boys had it in them before this game. Until this game I was unimpressed with our performance. I guess we are a much better team than I gave them credit for. Good to see Mettenberger doing a pretty decent job of it. Really good to see him putting his thinking cap on compared to a bunch of other games he was a mental wreck. I was proud of our efforts, just a shame our coaching was sub par.

On the other hand I have been extremely impressed with Bama's performance this entire season. They've been rock solid with fantastic coaching and hard to argue Saban is not one of the best coaches to ever grace the game.

Y'all should go all the way, again.

Would love to see y'all play Oregon for the national title.

No mistake...LSU is tough.  Mettenberger has some maturing to do and I think we got to see him start to bloom last Saturday.  He was impressive...his receivers were good, too.

Alabama has played some good ball, but something just wasn't right about them last Saturday night.  McCarron himself was so much out of character...it seemed like some of the Alabama guys had media interviews prior to the game than normal and I'm wondering if the attention didn't mess with their heads or something.

As for Saban, I've seen him more "angry" emotion out of him when Alabama was ahead by 30 points than I saw in this game.  What I did see a couple of times was something akin to *worry* on his face...that is/was unusual.

Oregon....let's get past Texas A&M first.   ;)

For some reason, Alabama has been "off" the last two games.  Now watch'em blow Georgia out of the water in the conference championship.  :-\
