What is this?

I done a hive inspection and ran across this little booger. I think it's a cross between a queen cell and a drone cell;

Hmm....I have no idea! 

But that's a beautiful brood pattern.  :)

I would say it's a drone.  The queen cells normally hang vertically and are bigger.  

Kind of odd, none the less.  Maybe there was an obstruction in the bottom of a cell resulting in a protruded drone cell.   :idunno:

She's been a good queen, just got them at the wrong time of the year (Jun 7th) due to weather. I have seen (or thought I did) eggs in cells(plastic foundation) that weren't drawn out but about half way. This is by far the frame with the best brood pattern. Others aren't as uniformed as this one. It seemed to be a race at one time between the queen and the workers as to who would get to an empty cell first.
