What is the furtherest distance that a virgin queen will travel in order to mate?

Hopefully she doesn't have to go over 3 miles because the farther she goes the less likely she will make it back.

To the nearest DCA that is outside of where her brothers fly to, which is about 1 KM.

Some will say 1 mile or up to 8 miles depending on how far the DCA is at.   I suspect that my local DCA is only
a half mile away from my hives.   But again you really don't know.
