Title: I guess the willows are blooming
Post by: wtiger on May 06, 2008, 02:43:01 pm
Well I guess the willows are blooming now.  I brushed by a young one while I was outside.  I got back inside and looked at the arm that had brushed against it and it was covered in yellow pollen.  Not just a little, but enough to make a part of my arm look lemon yellow until I brushed it off.  Looks like the girls have plenty to eat.  I was wondering what that shade of yellow pollen was that the girls were bringing in.  Now I know.

Hey wtiger,
The bleep willows at least are done other willows are still providing a source.  In our area the bees are foraging on apple blossoms and ornamental trees.  Good time for swarms.  LOL
