Title: flower ID
Post by: tandemrx on June 24, 2013, 05:14:11 pm
Have whole field of these flowers in a 10-acre prairie my hives are in.  Bees don't seem interested in them, but there is so much sweet clover and white clover blooming they may not be interested in anything else.

I have the seed list from this planted prairie, but I can't match seed to this plant.  Butterflies seem to show some interest.

Kind of looks like Prairie Coreopsis (http://vanburencd.org/programs-services/native-plant-guide/wildflowers/prairie-coreopsis-2)

looks like cone flowers to me. After a closer look I am wrong.   I do also have these growing along with cone flowers and blackeyed susans in my field

It's a Coreopsis of some sort.
