Title: Newbie in Texas

Howdy All!

Just found this site and decided to see how many beeks we have in central Texas near San Antonio. I am actually east of SA near Seguin if anyone knows where that is.

Quite new but have two hives going right now. Learning all I can and always looking for advice!

Welcome to the forum.  People here will help with most anything, just ask.  Check if there is a local bee club also.  Good luck with your bees.

Last year, I took a colony of Africanized bees out of a tree that they had split
in half at that Toll Road job in Seguin for OSHA. They sent two kids out with a
cable and were going to drag it off and burn it, but one got sick and one went
to the hospital. I vacuumed out the bees, which were fierce, and pulled the comb.
Got them in a box, but they were too aggressive and when tested were Africanized,
so I killed them off. I work out of La Grange, where I live and do some OSHA jobs
private removals, swarms, and some referrals from the County Extension Agent.

I'm on the north side of San Antonio. This is my first year keeping bees.
