How do you load photos using the IMG insert key. I know it sounds dumb?

John, I am in the same boat as you. I can no longer add photos.

When you hit the 'insert image' icon, it will simply add the beginning img tag and the closing or / img tag. you then insert the images url between the [ img ] and the [ / img]  for instance if your image is at photobucket (You have to have uploaded it in a publicly shared resource like photobucket.com/etc. and have it's img url, as well as have the correct permissions for the public to view/access it. if it is private and secured then no one else will be able to see it, because they won;t be able to access it.) and the url is "[ URL=http://s93.photobucket.com/user/XXXXX/media/XXXXX.jpg.html][ IMG]http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l55/XXXXX/XXXXX.jpg[ /IMG][ /URL]" then you only need the part that is between the [ img ] and the [ / img ]

I just checked and it works fine.

I swear I liked the old way .you just used photo insert and just browsed your files and up load it directly to the post. No secondary site or program needed. I long for the good old way. So much for making things easier.

Ditto.
The problem that I am having is up loading the photos to the sites. They work for a while and then the add photo button goes away.

When photos are hosted directly to the Beemaster page it consumes a lot more bandwidth, which ultimately makes things more expensive. Since the forum runs strictly from donations, we don't want to add the expense of hosting photos. Many people don't know how to reduce a photograph from a 6 to 10 megapixel camera down to a 43k or so photo size, which can make it awful expensive hosting the photos on the Beemaster server. We have not ever hosted the images directly that I'm aware of. And just linking it back to your desktop directory  will not work.
Creating a free photobucket account or google account or even a postimage account to store your photos that you can link to is an option.
Place a couple pictures in a folder sometime then click on the properties for that folder and you will see what I'm talking about.

I use "tinypics.com" You don't have to log on. Just go to file, choose file from your desktop. (I usually place the photos I want onto the desktop)

Click on resize and choose msg board 640 x 480.

Click Upload Now.

Under Share This Image, choose IMG for Message Board/Forum.

Click on this and it highlights. Right click with your mouse and copy it.

When you go to post a reply, then right click with your mouse and paste the photo into the reply

See just like that

Have you tried using the tapatalk app on your tablet to access the forum. It works great for accessing and uploading directly to the forum.

Ken,
Are you referring to the free one or the Tatatalk Pro ($4.00) one? Do you log into Tapatalk and then into Beemaster or do you just log into Beemaster with Tapatalk loaded?

When I use the tapatalk app it is the free one.I do log in directly from tapatalk if away from the desktop and using any of my mobile devices.
I have my ipod touch which is getting rough around the edges, but it always worked great for posting a photo direct from the yard at the hives over my wifi . I find the app itself works just as well from my Nexus 7 and android phone. I received the nexus 7  for a birthday gift a couple years ago and it was the version with only the camera facing the user so it doesn't get used as often for taking pictures.
I find tapatalk easier to use on my mobile devices for reading the forum than any of the browsers on the mobiles. It may be a personal feel for it ,I don't know, but it seems easier to work .
I have not been using the mobiles out in the beeyard as much,as I am usually in the house when moderating the forums and a 22 inch monitor on the old desktop still trumps the others, but hey I can't take it outside. :)
Bt in a nutshell, try the free one, then see what added benefits are there for the paid version. I have not looked into the upgrade in a while, but I may have to study it!

Well, I'm in Tapatalk writing this. I can see that I can take a picture. It has photo sharing but how do you get to your pictures?
Have to work on it.
