BEE HOUSE
(1/1)
bigal4u:
I have recently purchased what is called a bee house, it is an untreated pine box, with 25 holes drilled in it, it is supposed to encourage bees to rest in it.
Any info on these things would be appreciated.

Sounds more like it's used for Mason Bees, Blue Orchard Bees not honey bees.
Have a pic or link with more detail?

What you have probably purchased is a housing for wild bees. These are also fascinating but you cannot harvest any honey from them.
You should do a search and learn somemore about your new house and it's future residents....they are also VERY important little insects.
