My family, they maka me proud!!!
« on: October 17, 2008, 10:18:39 am »
I come from a family of 5 children, three girls and 2 boys, I am the eldest.  Actually, I am the Matriarch of the family on my Mother's side.  There are no remaining females left alive, I am the oldest.  My Mother came from a family of 13 siblings, wow!!!  That be a lot of progeny, my Grandmother and Grandfather would be proud.

Saturday last, my Sister who lives on our property with her clan had a dinner for her siblings.  No children were allowed.  This was a Brother/Sister night and a night it was.  My Sister cooked the dinner that would be fit for kings and queens, the table was set with all her best dinnerware, we had wine and had Martinelli sparkling apple juice for those that don't drink alcohol.  Part of my family is still very involved with being Mormons, and don't drink those species of drinks, hee, hee.  Not to say that they aren't the most fun you could ever imagine, they don't drink anything that makes them silly, hee, hee.

My youngest Brother, some of you may recall, is a photography specialist, he films still and video, and has done some marvelous things.  Especially, filming that he has done at our place.  I do have some pictures of a set that he filmed on our property that involved still photography only, it was a book that he is creating, the theme was about a woman who had passed on, and had turned into a ghoul and returned from the grave, some very interesting stuff went on at our house that day, and the make up artist was a work and a wonder!!!  Oops, I am off topic here, I was going to tell you more about the family get-together we had.

Where was I, right....We had dinner, it was actually some lovely duck(s), with all the trimmings one could ever imagine.  Even cranberry sauce that I made from scratch, (I sweetened it somewhat after the complaints during the last family dinner we had about the sour sauce, hee, hee).

My youngest Brother got the shoot set all set up.  BUT....it was in the back yard of my Sister's place and it was dark.  Oh so dark back there, narry a light to be seen, other than the glow from her home.  I wondered what on earth my Brother was up to, it was so dark.....He brought us to the back yard, with us barely even being able to see.  And then he turned on his lights!!!  Holy smoking cadoodalhoppers!!!  That be bright.  And then turned them off, once he had us situated where he wanted us to stand.

He then took a meter a put it beside my face, that determined how he had to set the appature (how do you spell that word, anyways) on his camera to provide enough light to take a picture.  Of course, when he was in the picture he used the timer, it gave him 10 seconds to get "ready" to have himself in the picture too.  I think that he did a marvelous job, and this young man makes me proud!!!  Enjoy the pictures, and.....have the best of a most wonderful day, Cindi

This is me and my two Sisters, the youngest on the left, the second one down in the middle and me on the right.

This is my family.  From left to right, my youngest Sister, my Sister next in age down from my next down in age brother, me, my next down in age Brother, and my film dude, the youngest Brother (little confusing?  Hee, hee).  Us oldest ones are 1-1/2 years apart, and then my Mother took a rest for 14 years and had the next two, they were spoiled little brats!!!!!  I remember that clearly....

Oh Cindi, what a beautiful family!   Brothers & Sisters are so special.  Whilst growing up in the "sibling rivalry" stages did you ever think you would be so proud & loving of one another?  I know we didn't!  I am the oldest in our little group, then Sis & Brother is the baby of the family...he was spoiled too as the only boy in 3 generations on Mom's side!! It's so nice that you guys are close, no one is like family!  J.

Cindi:

Such great pics, hope to hear more about the get together, you got side tracked again on the photo aspect and I thinnk you left out the dinner part - I wanted to hear how the cranberry sauce came out and how the duck (one of my favorites, which I get seldom) was cooked?

I lost my brother at 21 due to cerebral palsy, it was just him and me and now just me and Tracey, but I'm soooo blessed to have such a wonderful wife - we have been on Computer CAM together lately for the Ventrilo Gang (I can't give out the location cause the only site I found was adult oriented and although WE would never in a billion years do anything off color on cam, I won't give this site any exposure (forgive the pun). But Buzzbee, Dallas, CWBees, Uncle Bud1 (I call Bud Uncle Bud out of respect, he is a true gentleman and I think of him (as I do all the chat folks) as family and if you ever want to arrange it, I'll gladly give you the link and give you a tour of my new house, show you my new car - it has been a while, I just got a 2009 Subaru Legacy, fully equiped with heated leather seats, heated mirros and wipers, dual climate control, powerful mp3/cd/radio 385 watt system and moon roof - I figured that since I got almost $9000 from the collision of my old car, it would be a great bankroll to LEASE a new car, and it literally pays for 26 of the 26 month lease! Meanwhile Tracey and I will take turns driving the car, her Outback is EXTREMELY similar, but of course the moon roof alone is a great toy for Tracey - who I hope only looks out of it when parked - ugh :)

Write me a pm if you would, I miss hearing from you and hope all is okay.
nice to see your family, the siblings are all wonderful looking people who all have that family look about them, your genes will be around a long long time.

John, I will look into what pictures more I have, we didn't have that many pictures that we all took down at Brian's place, we were just plain too mesmerized with each other and couldn't stop talking, hee, hee, well, I should say, Brendhan couldn't stop talking!!!  Ever heard that dude, man oh man, has he got the gift of the gab, along with the travellin' man thing.  Just kidding.  I will check it out, and elaborate a little bit more on that barbeque post.  I will need to work on it though, but not this night.

I would be honoured, John, if one day you and I could arrange a time for me to come to your part of our world.  To see your new house, your new car, your lovely Wife, all through this incredible video cam that I know you have, hee, hee.  Truly, that would surely make my day, I embellish not one witt here.  We will work this thing out, perhaps on one of your day's off, I know you are back to work, yeah!!! Now isn't that just a thing of beauty?   ;) :) :) :)  Have the most wonderful and awesome of days.  Cindi

Ken, I know what you are saying about our "forum family" getting closer and closer every day.  It is true, I kid you not.  I feel like I know so many of us personally (well, I do now know now a few). We kid each other, have fun, bring each other into our personal lives, it is one lovely place to spend time, and that time is nothing short of quality.  I have been a member now for slightly over two years, and it has been nothing short of wonderful, each time I visit.  I love my forum friends, we are a unique bunch of groovey people, I thank my lucky stars the day that I found this forum.

BTW, if you ever got Brendhan into chat, trust me, no one could get a word in edgeways, hee, hee, that is not derogatory either, he is a fun dude, filled through and through with all the exuberance that life can bring, he is one super dude!!!  Beautiful day in this wonderful life we all live, love and share.  Cindi

We should set him and John up for a duel or duet whichever the case may be. The gift of conversation is great because many are more content to sit and listen!! A butt for every seat if you will!! :)
