Title: Seeing black bee's in my hive
Post by: Irwin on July 08, 2010, 05:45:41 pm
I was watching my bee's and seen a bee that was trying to rob the hive I think by the time I got back out with the cam it was over. You can see a bee that is dead that tried to rob the hive on the right side of the landing board.

My first bees were italian/carniolan. I think I squished the queen though, because my bees are all orange now.
If you feel like you need to do something about potential mites, look up smoking with juniper (or cedar) and decide for yourself if it's worth a try.
a couple of the organic sites claim to use it for regular inspections and it works as a booster treatment.
