Title: Late October intake
Post by: Fox Creek on October 28, 2012, 12:07:31 am
As winter approached I removed empty boxes as the bees moved down. Three hives, from four deeps to two. One hive still has three deeps. After a week of storms, now we have sunshine, warm temps and bees bringing in bags full. I live in the mountains at about the 3000 ft. level. With the bees collecting from anywhere around 1000ft through 4000 ft. these gals seem to never see a dearth. My question is, will my bees start to backfill the brood nest? This late in the year, should I be adding another box?
