New Zealand beekeepers seem to have a lot more clout then their USA counterparts.

I did not read the article word for word but it seems all the beekeepers knew about the appearance of the mite immediately. I always wonder why the people don't take some sort of action on their own instead of calling on the government to do something. You know those political types are slow.

They could have encased any known infected colony and destroyed it. Then all the colonies with in flying distance could have been checked. They could beeline for feral colonies and done something with those. So many things the people can do, but nope. Got to ask big brother to do it for them.

Boo-Hoo  :'(
