My favorite hockey player Alexander Ovechkin tallied a hat trick last night against the Blackhawks, and in doing so scored his 800th career goal. He is only the 3rd player in NHL history to do so. His next goal will tie him for 2nd all time in career goals with Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe. His next goal after that will obviously pass Howe and put him in sole possession of 2nd, chasing down the career goal record held by The Great One, Wayne Gretzky, whose 894 career goals were once considered unbeatable. Ovi is on pace for 53 goals this season, and if his astronomical scoring pace continues, he will pass Gretzky before his career is over.
