Start with one. When 8 of 10 frames are drawn, add the second box.

Good luck,

i'm green as grass. But from what i've read. wait till 7 out of 10 frames are filled then add the second box. Second box 7 out 10 filled, then add super. just what i've read.
Just a beek trying to get ready for winter.

What about if it is a dead out? Would you recommend starting right in with two deeps?

i'd probally still start with one, so you don't give them too much space to work. IMO

Need to just start with one.  Depending on your local area you may want to stay with a single deep or add another one when 8 frames have been drawn out.  Just depends on your local area weather to use one or two deeps for the brood chamber.  My guess from your location would be to use two as most in the state do except us mountain beeks hehehe.
