| Tracey and I have enjoyed seeing this country of ours. The United States has a wonderful mixture of mountains and oceans, deserts and vast farm lands. We enjoy traveling to major cities with good mass transportation and isolated get-aways where the rest of the work doesn't exist for the extent of the vacation. Here are a few of our favorite places. |
Museum of Art Here was a day trip the New York. The Museum was a nice trip, very open and all new areas were open from my trip many years earlier. This was the one of the last times I used my Sony Mavica camera. After Watkins Glen, all trips will have hi-res images. We joined our friend Mary for this bus trip though a County Parks Sponsored Trip. It's always wonderful to see Mary. |
New York The remarkable part of this trip is that I threw a virtual dart at the internet and we drove 6 hours to this beautiful hidden wonder. Look at the photos of the Watkins Glen State Park a true natural 200 foot deep gorge with dozens of spectacular waterfalls. We also had dinner on a dinner liner on Lake Senica, the largest of the Finger Lakes. Lots to do there for everyone and the scenery is spectacular. |
Toms River Nightmare This was the fated trip off the SS Beemaster my 14 foot Discovery Canoe. Tracey shown here is pushing our canoe under a fallen tree. Low water conditions caused us to be lost on the Toms River until nearly midnight, canoeing nearly 5 hours in total darkness. We crawled and swan more than canoe, it was truly terrible - but it makes a great internet travelog. Poor Tracey looked as if I beat her with an angry cat when we crawled out of the mucky water. |
Square, New York I've been to Manhattan only a handful of times, but I find it fascinating and beautiful. God Bless Mayor Guiliana for the wonderful work he has done to this magnificent city. Shown here are photos from my trip with a friend Fred ( 15 years old ) and Jay my recently retire supervisor and friend. We went aboard the Air Craft Carrier Intrepid, The Submarine Grower and ate lunch at WWF New York Theme Restaurant. This was a fun guys day. |
Wisconsin Here is our favorite vacation spot. Tracey and I got married here on July 1, 1998. Voted America's Friendliest City by Fortune Magazine many years in a row, Madison offers excellent attraction and happenings the year round. We really enjoyed Rhythm and booms, the Mid-West's largest fireworks display and also Saturday Farmers Market around the State Capitol Building. Also, Frank Lloyd Wrights home Taliesin. |
In 1987 we went to Jamaica, Mexico and Grand Caymen Islands. We had a week on the Carnival ship the Holiday where we enjoyed a week away from the rest of the world. Enjoy some insight to these common tourist stops and what to look for and what to avoid. Find out why we'd NEVER go to Jamaica again, but why Cozumel came off as a very friendly place to visit. coming soon. |
New Jersey Three times we've stayed in Cape May and we enjoy the Fairthorne Inn as a convenient, clean and comfortable place to stay. Only two short blocks from the Atlantic Ocean and only one block from quaint shopping and awesome dining. I really like this dive of a bar that has live jazz music every night of the week all Summer long and checkout how long the beaches are here in Cape May. |
New York was a short drive from Watkins Glen and well worth the trip. The Corning Glass Factory, glass blowing demonstration and an entire section on lens, space telescopes, movies, gift shops, great downtown shopping and lunch in the quaint town of Corning. This entire area of Upstate New York is worth visiting. Lots of small towns and shop owners appreciate you business and your family will have lots to do. |
This is our most resent weekend trip to Kennett Square, PA and Longwood Gardens, a remarkable property filled with decorated Christmas Trees, conservatory and tons of other seasonal displays. Also, we visited Winterthur, a 175 room and museum belonging to the DuPont Family. Winter can be a cold time, but when else can Christmas be found :) |
Summer time and time to get away. Here is our June 25-28, 2001 trip to the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, a really neat place to take the whole family. Water-Taxis, Aquariums, Science Centers, Forts, Shopping and tons of great places to eat. Here is a 5 foot long fish decorating the harbor - hundreds of these, each different are found around the city. |
If you follow my Beekeeping Logbook, then you know who Fred is. Here he is taking his Introductory Flight in a Parachute Style Airplane. This day trip was a birthday present and a unique gift that any kid would love. Fred flew in a Buckeye Brand Paraplane over the hilly countryside of the Brandywine Valley. |
Yet again another Fred and John trip. This time to our Nation's Capitol for three days of sightseeing and learning more about our Country's treasures. We traveled the Metro, visited many of the Smithsonian's, saw a 3D IMAX Movie, and stayed at a beautiful Embassy Suites Hotel in Chevy Chase, MD. Follow along with our detailed Itinerary. |
